Strings was a project with the objective of creating unconventional packaging and branding for a food product. As a college student, the easy-to-make box mac & cheese is a true delicacy, and something I wanted to tackle. The biggest goal was re-inventing the traditional rectangular box, while still considering size and how it would sit on a shelf next to one another. The form that was ultimately decided on was meant to elicit the form of spiral pastas, while also being able to “interlock” with other boxes of the brand. After all that, “Strings” was created as a gourmet boxed mac and cheese whose unique form would truly help it pop off the shelf.
