Overview
Strings, the gourmet boxed mac and cheese, immediately struts its stuff on the shelf with its unique box shape, playful imagery and colorful design. Strings is not your ordinary boxed mac, or even ordinary box, but ensures it packs a punch in its natural cheese flavor.
Process
Strings was a project with the objective of creating unconventional packaging and branding for a food product. The easy-to-make box mac & cheese is a true delicacy to any college student, so why wouldn’t I want to tackle something that is so often a rectangle on the shelf. The biggest goal was re-inventing the traditional rectangular box, while still considering size and how it would sit on a shelf next to one another. The form that was ultimately decided on was meant to elicit the form of spiral pastas, while also being able to “interlock” with other boxes of the brand. After all that, “Strings” was created as a gourmet boxed mac and cheese whose unique form would truly help it pop off the shelf.
